SONGTIK IV

Songtik IV
Songtik IV, Tenun Reimagined is a collection of 8 shawls, designed by Marina Ibrahim and handwoven using the Royal Pahang Weave silk techniques by Cheminahsayang. The abstract designs showcase Marina Ibrahim’s signature strokes, exploring the movements of nature on land and water.
The 2018 collection elevates the sapuan technique—sapuan meaning “to paint” in Malay—where designs are painted onto pulled warp yarns before colors are brushed on, fixed, and finally attached to the loom for weaving. A painstaking process, it yields richly textured, one-of-a-kind shawls that are both labor-intensive and deeply rewarding.
Songtik® is an amalgamation of Songket and Batik, two of Malaysia’s most revered textile crafts. The Songtik® trademark, coined by Pink Jambu, represents the House’s highest and most exclusive collection of products, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship, design innovation, and heritage artistry.
