PAHANG IN NATURE COUTURE

Pahang in Nature Couture

Pahang in Nature began as a series of expansive paintings by Marina Ibrahim, commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art Kuantan, capturing the rich natural landscapes of Pahang. The exhibition debuted at the Museum’s inauguration in 2023, celebrating Malaysia’s heritage through vibrant, immersive canvases.

In 2024, the vision came to life on the runway at the Islamic Fashion Festival at the Museum. Pink Jambu presented a couture collection of gowns and separates that reimagined modesty with contemporary allure—a confident take on modest dressing. The collection, produced in custom batik by Pink Jambu and Royal Pahang Weave by Cheminahsayang, it featured flowing dresses, flouncy skirts, Royal Pahang Weave suits, oversized blouses, and pussy-bow tops, each piece infused with extravagance, fun and couture craftsmanship. Paired with the fine jewellery of La Putri, the collection celebrates elegance, boldness, and a modern approach to modest fashion.
